I have been an Salesforce Evangelist for a very long time, and I know the company is not perfect. But there is one thing they have consistently done really well: make products people love and developers adore. But I am not stepping back to speak my mind.
So why even the 'A list' stellar developers can not attend this titanic size event. This isn’t because they are busy and they should not let them down because of their inability to attend this event especially the technical architects working in big companies. So I would like to list out the misconceptions that led the junk to be there in the Dreamforce event other than the cloud lovers and tech trend listeners. And the whole notion of treating dreamforce as an innovation event is at stake. So what's going wrong in the biggest technological cloud event and why its slowly fading out to be a marketing stunt.
Companies working with Salesforce were thinking this event as
- A place where they can find opportunities to expand their business
- People without even basic knowledge of salesforce trying to be a part of this event
- Lack of proper research before attending the dreamforce event
- And at last to blame the salesforce itself for making this event a Jumbo marketing campaign to show off its strength in selling stuff.
Why can’t it be just like Apple WWDC, why all this star studded mess around the technical awesomeness.
Sorry Sassy I missed this event again. Hope next time will be there representing a pioneer in cloud technology.
